Nestled in the heart of Hamilton, our beautiful centre is a not for profit, community based long day care catering for up to 44 children each day. We are a unique educational space where older and younger children 0 to 5 learn and play together in our federation house. Large parts of our days are spent outdoors in our nature-inspired and risk-based environments. At Hamilton, relationships are built on respect and value for the individual.

We are a well-known and highly regarded early learning centre looking to invite dedicated and experienced Diploma and Certificate III educators to work in a casual capacity within our team.

Tasks and responsibilities
n
The role is to work within our team of educators to assist in maintaining the safety, care and well being of children at all times through active supervision. Additionally, casual staff are expected to complete some shift tasks whilst developing and maintaining strong, supportive relationships with the children and staff at all times.
n
Our philosophy of play-based learning in a natural environment with loose parts and risk based play is important, as is our focus to play alongside the children and co-construct with them.
n
You will assist children with some care routines, enjoy playing and being with them, support the team, clean and prepare aesthetically pleasing environments and maintain a safe, organised and hygienic learning space for all.

Skills and experience
n
n




Have at least 3 years experience working in the early learning sector.
n
Be aware of all responsibilities in relation to child secure principles, child protection and mandatory reporting.
n
Be inspired by children and their learning, viewing children as capable and competent.
n
Be joyful in your engagement with children and families.
n
Show deep respect for children, and be able to explore new ideas as a co‐researcher and co‐learner.
n
Understand the importance of providing risky play for children.
n
Be a flexible, reliable, trustworthy, and collaborative person within a large team.
n
Show commitment to continuous reflection as an individual and within a team.
n
Be knowledgeable with both the EYLF V.2 and NQS.

Show a commitment to creating strong connections with our families.

Be a strong advocate for children and childhood, dedicated to enhancing community awareness and understanding of early childhood theories and practice.
