Firewall & Network Security Engineer
to join our growing Network Security team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience with enterprise-grade security technologies while working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists.
This role offers hybrid work arrangements with a base location at Macquarie Park.
About the role:
As a
Firewall & Network Security Engineer
, you will support the management, monitoring, and maintenance of firewall and network security platforms across customer and enterprise environments. You will be exposed to leading technologies, real-world security challenges, and a structured development pathway within the cyber security and telecommunications industry.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting firewall policy changes and security requests.
Monitoring firewall and network security infrastructure.
Assisting with troubleshooting and incident resolution.
Supporting VPN, remote access, and secure connectivity services.
Maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures.
Assisting with security audits, policy reviews, and compliance activities.
Participating in project delivery, testing, and implementation activities.




Learning and developing skills across network security technologies and cyber security best practices.
What We're Looking For
Qualification in Information Technology, Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
Basic knowledge of cyber security principles and network security concepts.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
A proactive attitude and genuine desire to learn and grow.
Exposure to any of the following would be advantageous:
Fortinet
Check Point
IDS/IPS Technologies
Security Monitoring Tools
Industry certifications such as
CCNA, Security+, Network+, PCNSA, Fortinet FCA/FCP, or Azure Fundamentals
will be highly regarded.
