Job Description
North Vic Caravans is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis in Wangaratta, VIC. This is a hands-on technical position where you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing caravans and recreational vehicles to the highest standards. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our customers receive reliable, safe, and well-maintained vehicles, contributing directly to their holiday experiences and overall satisfaction with our business.

Key responsibilities
n
Perform routine maintenance and servicing on caravans and recreational vehicles.
n
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
n
Conduct pre-delivery inspections and safety checks on new and used vehicles
n
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
n
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair timelines, costs, and recommendations
n
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations
n
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment and manage tools and equipment responsibly
n
Assist in identifying opportunities for vehicle upgrades and enhancements to recommend to customers
n
What we're looking for
n
A recognised mechanical qualification or apprenticeship in automotive or recreational vehicle mechanics
n
Proven experience working as a mechanic, preferably with caravans, motorhomes, or light commercial vehicles
n
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with proficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment
n
Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, engine mechanics, brake systems, and suspension components
n




Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service specifications
n
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
n
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
n
A current driver's licence is essential
n
Experience with caravan-specific systems such as gas appliances, water systems, and axle maintenance is highly desirable
