Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Information Architect to support a major transformation program within a Federal Government workplace.
n
The Information Architect will be responsible for designing, structuring and governing business information assets to ensure they are consistently structured, classified, governed and integrated across business systems and services.
n
The role will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand information requirements, assess the current information landscape and design sustainable future-state information architectures aligned with broader business, data and enterprise architecture objectives. Key responsibilities:

Facilitate stakeholder workshops and information discovery activities.
n
Assess and document the current-state information landscape, including existing information assets, repositories and structures.
n
Analyse information flows, dependencies, governance requirements, risks and opportunities.
n
Develop information architecture frameworks, models and structures.
n
Define taxonomies, metadata frameworks, classification schemes and content structures.
n
Document integration and interoperability requirements across systems and services.
n
Develop information governance recommendations, standards and supporting documentation.
n
Ensure information architecture aligns with enterprise, business, data and solution architecture practices.
n
Address relevant privacy, records management, security classification and regulatory requirements.
n




Prepare architecture artefacts, briefing papers, standards, roadmaps and executive presentations.
n
Support implementation, adoption, stakeholder engagement and governance activities.
n
Work within an Agile delivery environment, including maintaining work items in Azure DevOps.
n
Provide knowledge transfer and handover to build internal capability.
n

Required experience:
n
n
Strong experience designing, implementing and governing enterprise information architectures.
n
Experience developing information models, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, classification structures and content architectures.
n
Strong information management and governance experience.
n
Experience assessing current-state information environments and designing future-state architectures.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills, including working with senior executives, architects, delivery teams and governance forums.
n
Experience developing logical and conceptual information models.
n
Understanding of privacy, records management, security classifications and regulatory compliance.
n
Ability to align information architecture with broader enterprise, data, solution and business architecture.
n
Strong written communication and architecture documentation skills.
n
Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
n
Ability to collaborate effectively, build trust and create alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
