Job Description
AO5.1 Project Support and Controls Officer
n
Randstad is proud to partner with a major State Government Department responsible for regional development and natural resource management. Located in at 1 William Street, Brisbane, this full-time opportunity offers a 12-month initial contract (September **** to August ****) with the strong possibility of a further 12-month extension. Working within a supportive, four-person team in the Office of the Executive Director, you will provide critical support on high-priority business unit operations, manage corporate documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across a dynamic portfolio.

Your new role
n
Your duties will be tasks including but not limited to...
n
n
Coordinate high-level corporate documents and key processes, including Parliamentary, Estimates, and conflict of interest documentation.
n
Liaise with departmental officers and senior government leaders to ensure smooth office operations and facilitate quality outcomes.
n
Research and draft correspondence, briefs, and official reports required by the Executive Director.
n
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of departmental activities and protocols to advise leadership on emerging issues.
n
Support the Principal Project Officer with Business Unit reporting and high-priority emergent projects.
n
Generate reports, analyse data, and track projects using systems such as Aurion, SAP, and PowerBI.
n
Undertake procurement activities and perform administrative tasks to assist day-to-day executive operations.
n

What will you need to be successful in this role
n
n
Previous experience supporting a public sector Senior Executive or Senior Officer level environment is highly desirable.
n
Proficiency or quick learning capability in reporting tools and corporate systems, specifically SAP, PowerBI, and Aurion.
n
Proven analytical skills and strong problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines.
n
High-level communication skills and the ability to build collaborative, enduring relationships.
n
Flexibility and strong self-management skills to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
n
Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or valid working rights in Australia.
n
