Job Description
Our client is a well‐established captive finance business operating across Australia and New Zealand, backed by a global parent group. With a growing loan and lease portfolio and continued investment in Finance, they're seeking a Financial Accountant on a 12‐month contract to own month‐end close, statutory reporting and consolidation across multiple entities, and drive process improvement in a highly manual environment.

Key Responsibilities
n
Own end-to-end month-end close for the broker entity and NZ entity (journals: accruals, provisions, depreciation, intercompany, eliminations)
n
Review P&L;/balance sheet movements at entity and consolidated level
n
Support year-end statutory and consolidated financial statements
n
Own balance sheet reconciliations, support external audit and statutory accounts process
n
Streamline month-end/reporting processes (templates, spreadsheets, folder structures) for accuracy and efficiency
n




Partner with the Financial Controller on consolidation, eliminations and Group reporting to parent entities
n
Use advanced Excel to automate manual models and speed up reporting
n
About You
n
5+ years' financial
accounting/controllership
experience, incl. consolidation and multi-entity statutory reporting
n
CA or CPA (essential)
n
Strong AASB technical skills; financial services experience essential
n
Track record improving manual/spreadsheet-heavy processes
n
Advanced Excel; detail-oriented; comfortable with tight deadlines and competing priorities
n
Proactive, able to engage non-finance stakeholders on business drivers
n
In office preferred, especially the first 6 months and key reporting periods; flexible time when needed
