Due to our continual growth, we have an opening for a Field Service Technician (Locomotive Maintainer) to join our locomotive maintenance team in Warwick, QLD.

About the Role
n
As a Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter/Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a key role in keeping our locomotive fleet protected, reliable, and ready for service. This is a hands‐on role where you'll perform scheduled maintenance, fault finding, diagnostics, and unscheduled repairs on a variety of locomotive classes.

You'll work across mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting faults, conducting inspections, replacing components and carrying out maintenance activities.
n
Travel within Queensland will be required at times for field service work, breakdown response, and training opportunities, so flexibility is important.

What You'll Need
n
Essential
n
n
Trade qualification in Mechanical, Diesel Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical or equivalent.
n
Ability to diagnose and rectify faults with minimal supervision.
n
Ability to read maintenance documentation and schematics.
n
Current C Class Driver's Licence.
n
Commitment to safe work practices and rail safety requirements.
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
Willingness to travel when required.
n
Ability to pass a pre-employment rail medical assessment.
n
n
Desirable but not essential
n
n
Previous locomotive or rollingstock maintenance experience.
n
Experience performing scheduled and unscheduled locomotive maintenance.
n
Experience with EMD and/or GE locomotives.
n
Experience undertaking locomotive examinations.
n
Welding qualifications.
n
Forklift, HR, dogging, rigging or crane licences.
n
n
Classification and Pay
n
This is a permanent full-time position under our Enterprise Agreement, classified at Level 2 under the Watco East Coast Maintenance and Rollingstock Enterprise Agreement ****.
