Cyber Security Advisor | 12-Month Contract | $900–$1,100/day ex. super | Sydney

A well-known Sydney government organisation is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Advisor to join on a 12-month contract. This is a senior, hands‐on role providing security guidance across the organisation's technology programs.

The role:
n
n
Provide risk-based cyber security advice, assessments and assurance across technology projects, systems and services
n
Review current products, services, applications and infrastructure solutions, recommending fit‐for‐purpose controls
n
Advise project and technology teams on secure design and implementation
n
Support cyber security governance — policies, standards and procedures
n
Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives
n

What you'll bring:
n
n




Strong working knowledge of the ASD Essential Eight (and familiarity with ISO *****************, NIST, ISM)
n
Hands‐on experience securing Microsoft Azure / Entra ID environments, including network security
n
Solid background in cyber security advisory, risk assessment, assurance or governance
n
Experience reviewing applications, systems and infrastructure from a security lens
n
CISSP, CISA or CISM highly regarded; OT security knowledge a plus
n
