The Role

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join either our Sydney (Erskine Park) office on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager (Brisbane based), you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support our wholesale distribution and software businesses across Australia & New Zealand.
Your responsibilities will include –
End of month preparation including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Providing variance analysis and other supplementary reporting to management and as required for US reporting purposes.
Day to Day financial management of our software business and supporting the software team on financial matters.
Ownership of processes and P&L; accounts associated with fixed assets and operating leases.
Responsibility for loading financial information into the US reporting system.
Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements and liaising with external auditors as required.
Budget preparation and forecasting.
Assisting with compliance with global internal control framework.
Assisting with various projects and business improvement initiatives.
About You
Ideally you will display –




Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications (or working towards).
Demonstrated three years experience within a large, commercial environment and accounting team.
Advanced skills in MS Excel.
Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way.
A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on seeking out continuous improvement opportunities.
