Licenced merch - Design & Development Assistant

Established in ****, ImpactMerch. employs 25 staff, with our office and warehouse based in Thornleigh, Sydney. We are one of Australia's largest wholesalers and distributors of Licensed Merchandise, specialising in stationery and home categories.

We work with global brands such as Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Warner Bros., & Pokemon to design, manufacture and distribute exciting recent licensed product for each brand.
n
With a strong customer base of leading retailers including, JB Hi-Fi, EB Games, Kmart, Big W, Coles and Woolworths as well as catering to our small independent customers we aim to develop the right product for the right price delivered at the right time.
n
We're looking for someone to join our Product Development Team to support the Product Development Manager with product design, project admin & licencing approvals. The role is part-time, minimum 3 days per week, hour scan be negotiable.
n
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised individual with exceptional attention to detail, ideally with some similar experience in either design & product development, licenced products in the Toy & Gift industry or manufacturing logistics. Admin experience with an aptitude & willingness to learn new skills and a love of pop culture is more important than industry experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, working closely with the Designer,



your responsibility is to assist in all aspects of new product creation and production.
n
Using your design skills, exceptional attention to detail and admin experience, you will help to co-ordinate & track all products through the design process, product approvals,
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Attending weekly Product Development meeting to discuss all current projects with the team.
n
Maintaining the Product Development Tracker to keep all details and timelines up to date.
n
Raise any issues promptly with the team when design, approvals or production are falling behind schedule.
n
Submit new designs to our licensors for approval via the relevant portals
n
Assist with quality control, helping to check design, colour & code details at each stage
n
Prepare & file final product images ready for us by the Sales Team
n
Create promotional materials for new products using existing templates
n
n
Required experience
n
n
1+years experience in a similar role or a similar environment
n
Sound knowledge & love of pop culture
n
Good knowledge of the design and development process
n
Experience with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator or Indesign
n
Good understanding of the licensing, toy and or gift industry desirable
n
Exceptional attention to detail – this is an absolute priority
n
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
n
Confidence in communicating issues to mangers and the wider team
n
Good computer literacy in MS Office & Design Software
n
Team oriented but able to work autonomously
n
Strong aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
n
