We are currently actively looking for an experienced Chef to join our team in a full-time role working 38 hours a week.
n
In this role, you will play a crucial part in all kitchen operations, from menu planning to team management, ensuring exceptional food quality and a cohesive working environment.
n
Duties/Responsibilities
include:
n
n
Develop menus and manage food procurement while assessing expenses related to food and labour.
n
Execute food preparation, seasoning, and cooking with precision,ensuring quality from start to finish.
n
Preparing different food according to the customer requirement
n
Provide guidance on cooking methods and demonstrate culinary techniques to the team.
n
Oversee kitchen activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
n




Direct and delegate tasks within the food preparation process, maintaining high standards of quality and timely service.
n
Train staff in menu item preparation and cooking, while innovating new recipes to enhance the menu.
n
Manage inventory and place orders for replenishment, coordinating staff activities as needed.
n
Stay updated on industry trends, soliciting feedback to improve performance and offerings.
n
Collaborate effectively with kitchen and management teams, participating in group training initiatives for teamwork and personal development.
n
Fulfill additional duties as assigned, aligned with your skills and qualifications.
n
Report any issues to the head chef

Qualification and Experience Requirements:
n
n
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent
n
At least 3 years work experience if no relevant qualification
n
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant environment.
n
Creativity and passion for food, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
n
Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate effectively with team members.
n
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
n
n
A salary of $81,000 - $83,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
