Our client is a QLD government organisation based in Fortitude Valley QLD. They are currently seeking 2x Payroll Officers to come in and join their team on a temp contract until 11th December ****.

Requirements for this role include:
n

Proven experience in end to end payroll processing
n
Previous local or state government experience
n
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
End-to-End Processing: Collect, verify, and process high-volume manual and digital employee timesheets, calculating regular earnings, allowances, and overtime payments.
n
Enterprise Agreement Interpretation: Interpret and apply complex Enterprise Agreements (EAs), corporate guidelines, and local government industry awards to calculate complex wage structures accurately.

Compliance Management:



Calculate and remit all statutory deductions, including Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) taxation, superannuation contributions, payroll tax, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) obligations.
n
System Maintenance: Update and maintain employee profiles within internal HR and payroll databases, ensuring accurate records for current hires, terminations, leave entitlements, and salary packaging.
n
Inquiry Resolution: Provide proactive customer service by acting as the main point of contact for staff and management queries regarding compensation, leave balances, and tax withholdings
