Key responsibilities
n
Provide veterinary oversight of flock health, welfare and performance
n
Develop and manage vaccination and medicinal programmes
n
Conduct flock examinations, inspections, sampling and disease investigations
n
Lead disease outbreak response and coordinate with relevant authorities
n
Establish and maintain high standards of biosecurity across all sites
n
Monitor diagnostics and laboratory results and use findings to drive preventative health strategies
n
Work with hatcheries, nutritionists and feed specialists to improve chick quality and flock performance
n
Train and support Farm Managers and operational teams in biosecurity and flock health
n
Maintain accurate, compliant and audit-ready health, vaccination and medication records
n
Stay current with developments in poultry health and veterinary science
n
About you
n
Australian-registered veterinarian with BVSc or equivalent veterinary qualification
n
Minimum 3 years' experience as a registered veterinarian
n
Solid knowledge of poultry health,



disease management and welfare
n
Experience working within poultry systems and understanding of industry best practice
n
Genuine interest in avian/poultry medicine
n
Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to work confidently with farm teams, management and external stakeholders
n
Commitment to high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity
n
Current Australian driver's licence and ability to travel regularly between Victorian sites
n
Formal qualification in avian medicine and previous poultry veterinary experience highly regarded
n
$150,000 total package, including car allowance, phone and laptop
n
Potential relocation package and/or housing allowance for the right candidate
