Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Civil Operator to join the team at Western Civil Group Pty Ltd. This is a full-time position based in Dubbo, NSW. As a Civil Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plant and machinery on civil construction sites. This role is fundamental to the successful delivery of our projects and requires a skilled professional who can safely and efficiently operate a range of heavy equipment in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key responsibilities
n
Operate a variety of plant and machinery including excavators, graders, dozers, rollers and other civil construction equipment in accordance with site specifications and project requirements
n
Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on plant and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation
n
Follow all site safety procedures, workplace health and safety regulations, and company policies at all times
n
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, team members and other operators to coordinate work activities and maintain workflow
n
Maintain accurate records of plant operation, fuel consumption and any maintenance issues or equipment failures
n
Support site preparations, earthmoving, compaction and other civil works as directed by site management
n
Identify and report hazards or safety concerns to management and take corrective action where necessary
n
Maintain plant and equipment in good working condition and report any defects or damage promptly
n
What we're looking for
n
Valid Heavy Commercial Driver's Licence (HCV) and Civil Construction Competency Card or equivalent qualification
n
Proven experience operating a range of heavy plant and machinery on civil construction sites
n
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and construction industry standards
n




Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions and work independently
n
Physical fitness and ability to work in varied weather conditions and demanding environments
n
Reliability, punctuality and a qualified attitude towards work
n
Current First Aid Certificate and CPR qualification (desirable)
n
Experience with GPS guided equipment or laser-guided systems (desirable)
