We are currently seeking a
Medical Waste Driver
to join a busy and growing operation based in
Stapylton
, with work covering healthcare facilities and collection points across the region.
This is a
3-month temporary position with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment for the right candidate.
The Role
This position involves much more than simply driving from A to B. You'll be responsible for the safe collection, transport and delivery of medical waste bins, while providing professional service to customers along your allocated routes.
Safely operating a company HR vehicle
Collecting and delivering medical waste bins to healthcare facilities and designated collection points
Loading and unloading bins, including bins weighing up to
30kg
Moving and handling bins safely using correct manual handling techniques
Following allocated routes and schedules to ensure timely collections and deliveries
Completing vehicle and safety checks as required
Communicating with the dispatch team and supervisors regarding deliveries, delays or issues
Providing professional and respectful customer service
Following all workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is
reliable, physically fit and takes pride in their work
.
You will ideally have:
Current HR licence
– automatic licence accepted




Previous delivery or transport driving experience
A strong work ethic and excellent attendance
The ability to work independently and manage scheduled routes
Good communication and customer service skills
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
The physical capability to repeatedly lift and move bins weighing up to
30kg
The ability to undertake regular bending, lifting, standing and manual handling
An understanding that this is a
hands-on driving and waste collection role
, not simply a point-to-point driving position
Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday
Occasional weekend and public holiday work may be required
Start times can vary between
12:00am and 5:00pm
, depending on the allocated run
Typical shifts are
8-12 hours
$***** per hour + penalties
Overtime and applicable allowances paid in accordance with the
Waste Management Award
3-month temporary assignment with potential for permanent employment
Pre-Employment Requirements
Successful applicants will be required to complete the following prior to commencement:
Workplace health & safety requirements
National Police Check
Drug and alcohol screening
Evidence of
Hepatitis A & B vaccination
COVID-19 vaccination preferred
