n Our client is an established Australian poultry producer seeking a reliable and safety-conscious HR Driver and Hatchery Transport Operator to join its hatchery team in Mulgrave.
n
This role will commence on a casual basis at $39 per hour, with the opportunity to move into permanent part-time employment for the right candidate.
n
You will transport eggs safely between the hatchery and farms across Sydney, as well as undertake longer-distance trips to Harden. This is an important role requiring careful driving, reliability, strong biosecurity practices and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

The Role
n
Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Safely transporting eggs between the hatchery and farms
n
Driving a manual HR vehicle
n
Completing deliveries across Sydney and longer-distance runs to Harden
n
Ensuring eggs are transported carefully and in accordance with welfare and quality requirements
n
Following all loading, unloading and transport procedures
n
Maintaining clear communication with supervisors, managers and farm personnel
n
Complying with WHS, quality assurance and biosecurity procedures
n
Completing required transport and delivery documentation
n
Participating in workplace training
n
Undertaking other reasonable duties as directed by the Hatchery Manager
n

About You
n
To be considered, you will need:
n
n
A current HR driver's licence
n
Experience and confidence driving a manual HR vehicle
n
A strong and safe driving record
n
The ability to complete both metropolitan and longer-distance routes
n
Reliability, punctuality and good time-management skills
n




Strong communication skills
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Flexibility to work early starts and across a rotating seven-day roster
n
A responsible approach to biosecurity and animal welfare
n
n
Previous experience transporting livestock or live animals is highly regarded but not essential.
n
Hours and Roster
n
This position operates across a rotating seven-day roster, with schedules provided in advance.
n
n
Start times will vary between 5:00 am and 9:00 am
n
Days worked will vary according to the roster
n
A regular shift every second Saturday is required
n
Routes include Sydney metropolitan areas and longer-distance travel to Harden
n
The role will commence on a casual basis
n
Permanent part-time employment may be offered to the right candidate
n
n
Pay Rate
n
n
$39 per hour for casual employment
n
Permanent part-time conditions and rate are highly competitive and will be confirmed if the successful person transitions into permanent employment
n
Employment conditions are aligned with the applicable classification under the Pastoral Award
n
n
Important Biosecurity Requirements
n
Biosecurity is absolutely paramount within this operation.
n
To protect the health of the livestock and the integrity of the hatchery and farms, employees must not:
n
n
Keep birds, poultry or pigs at their home or residence
n
Live at a property where birds, poultry or pigs are kept
n
Have regular contact with birds, poultry or pigs outside of work
n
n
Applicants must be able and willing to comply with all hatchery and farm biosecurity procedures as a condition of employment.
