ALEX&Co.; is seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Chef / Senior Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team at our busy restaurant, bar and functions venue in the heart of Parramatta.
n
Working closely with our Executive Chef, this is a hands-on senior position for a strong all-round chef who can confidently work across multiple sections, maintain high standards during busy services and provide leadership and support to the wider kitchen team.

The Role
n
You will be responsible for:
n
n
Working confidently across multiple kitchen sections during preparation and service
n
Taking ownership of an allocated section and ensuring consistent execution
n
Supporting the Executive Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
n
Assisting at the pass and coordinating service when required
n
Maintaining food quality, presentation, portion and recipe standards
n
Supporting and providing practical direction to junior chefs and kitchen hands
n
Ensuring mise en place and preparation levels are maintained for service
n
Supporting functions, events and high-volume service periods
n
Maintaining strong food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
n
Managing correct stock rotation, labelling and storage using FIFO principles
n
Assisting with stocktakes, deliveries and inventory counts
n
Identifying stock shortages, quality concerns and operational issues before they impact service
n
Maintaining an organised, professional and service-ready kitchen
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who:
n
n
Has at least 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally within a high-volume restaurant, bar or functions environment
n
Is a strong all-round chef capable of working across multiple sections
n
Can maintain quality, organisation and speed under pressure
n
Has strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
n
Is comfortable stepping into a senior on-shift leadership role
n
Leads by example and supports the development of junior team members
n
Has strong food safety and hygiene knowledge
n
Is reliable, accountable and looking for a long-term opportunity
n
Experience with Mediterranean, Italian or modern Australian cuisine will be highly regarded
n
