Overview of Role
Are you a commercially minded accountant looking to make a real impact in a manufacturing environment?
We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Site Accountant to join our Preston manufacturing site for a 12 month contract. As an integral member of the site leadership team, you will partner closely with Operations and Finance to provide financial insights, support business performance, and maintain the integrity of the site's financial processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, driving continuous improvement, and influencing business decisions through meaningful financial analysis.
What You'll Be Doing
Manage month-end processes, prepare journals and reconciliations, and ensure accurate financial reporting within tight deadlines.
Provide weekly and monthly performance reporting, identify operational variances, and deliver financial insights to support decision-making.
Lead the development of site budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuring assumptions are well documented and aligned with business objectives.




Support capital expenditure processes, manage capital work in progress, and maintain the integrity of the fixed asset register.
Maintain strong financial controls, support SOX compliance requirements, conduct control self-assessments, and participate in audits and balance sheet reviews.
Support stocktakes, engineering spares counts and fixed asset verification activities, while maintaining accurate standard costing and manufacturing cost reporting.
Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and Warehouse teams to provide financial analysis, support decision-making and drive improved business performance.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and operational efficiency across the site.
What You'll Bring
Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration
CPA or CA qualification (completed)
Minimum 5 years' accounting experience
Manufacturing experience preferred
Strong ERP, financial systems and Microsoft Office skills
A proactive, self-motivated and "Yes We Can" approach
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Passion for continuous improvement and challenging the status quo
