As an experienced Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of site-based projects, working closely with clients, site teams, subcontractors and internal support functions. This is a hands‐on project leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the work, building strong relationships with clients and site teams, and taking ownership of project outcomes. The role will require regular travel to project sites throughout the Bowen Basin, with the successful candidate expected to spend a significant portion of their time on site.
Key responsibilities
Lead projects from planning and mobilisation through execution, completion and close‐out.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and commercial performance.
Coordinate project personnel, subcontractors, suppliers and internal resources.
Develop and manage project programs, budgets, forecasts and progress reporting.
Monitor project performance against schedule and budget and proactively address emerging issues.
Manage variations and changes to project scope, schedule and cost.
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other key stakeholders.
Ensure explicit communication between site teams, clients and Walz management.
Support the development and performance of project and site teams.
About you
Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer within the construction, resources, mining or heavy industrial sectors.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage site‐based teams.




Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules and commercial outcomes.
Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem‐solving capabilities.
A practical, delivery‐focused approach and willingness to spend significant time on site.
Flexibility to travel throughout the Bowen Basin and work varied rosters where project requirements dictate.
Experience with project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 is desirable, but not essential.
