Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator – Civil Construction
Premier Commercial Solutions is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Contract Administrator to join a leading civil contractor delivering a major bulk earthworks project. This is a long-term opportunity on a flagship job with years of runway ahead of it.
The role is DIDO / FIFO ex Brisbane on a 2:1 roster. It offers the rare combination of a genuinely large-scale earthworks package and the security of ongoing, multi-year work.
About the Role
You will take full ownership of the commercial and contract administration function on site, working closely with project leadership, the client, subcontractors and the site team to protect margin and drive robust commercial outcomes. This is a hands‐on position requiring sharp commercial discipline, a firm grasp of civil quantities, and the confidence to hold a position under pressure across the full life of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Administer the head contract and subcontract packages from award through to final account
Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, claims, progress payments and extensions of time
Manage measurement, quantities, remeasurement and certification of bulk earthworks and associated civil works
Maintain cost tracking, committed cost control, budget monitoring, cash flow forecasting and monthly commercial reporting
Control contractual correspondence, notices and time bars
Lead subcontractor procurement, engagement and ongoing administration, including payment schedules and close‐out




Provide commercial advice to the site leadership team to manage risk and protect margin
Maintain constructive relationships with the client, superintendent, project team and subcontractors
About You
You are a commercially sharp Quantity Surveyor or Contract Administrator with a strong civil earthworks background. You bring rigour to the detail, credibility to the numbers, and the ability to run the commercial function on a major project with minimal oversight.
5-10 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying / Contract Administration role on civil or bulk earthworks projects
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience
Strong working knowledge of standard forms (AS **** / AS **** / AS ****) and the Queensland security of payment regime (BIF Act)
Proven command of variations, claims, remeasurement, cost control and final accounts
Clear, decisive communicator able to operate effectively across site and client
Current C-class driver's licence and Construction Industry White Card
Willingness to work a DIDO / FIFO 2:1 roster ex Brisbane on a long‐term basis
