About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lecturer (Level B) in Social Work to join the School of Social Work at the Institute of Health & Management (IHM).
n
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of the Bachelor of Social Work program through high-quality teaching, assessment, curriculum development, student supervision, and academic scholarship. The role also involves engagement with qualified and industry networks and participation in academic quality and governance activities.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops and other teaching activities across undergraduate Social Work units, including online learning.
n
Develop, review and continuously improve Social Work curriculum and learning materials in accordance with AASW accreditation requirements, higher education standards and professional requirements.
n
Prepare, administer and assess student examinations,



assignments and other assessment activities, ensuring alignment with AASW accreditation requirements and relevant professional standards.
n
Supervise and provide academic guidance to students, supporting their learning, progression and professional development.
n
Conduct and contribute to research, scholarship and practice-based inquiry relevant to Social Work education and professional practice.
n
Maintain current knowledge of developments in Social Work practice, education, research and AASW professional standards, and incorporate relevant developments into teaching.
n
Contribute to academic quality assurance, assessment moderation, course review and AASW accreditation and compliance activities.
n
Develop and maintain relationships with professional, community and industry organisations to strengthen Social Work education and student professional learning.
n
Participate in academic meetings, committees and other administrative activities associated with the School of Social Work.
n
Promote a collaborative, inclusive and student-focused academic environment consistent with IHM's values.

Qualifications and Experience
n
n
PhD in Social Work or a relevant discipline, or a Master's qualification in Social Work or a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
n
Relevant experience in Social Work or a closely related discipline is mandatory.
n




Candidates with a PhD are expected to demonstrate relevant academic, teaching and/or professional experience, while Master's-qualified candidates should demonstrate substantial relevant professional and/or higher education teaching experience.
n
Previous teaching experience, preferably in a higher education or tertiary environment, is highly desirable.
n
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, quality assurance and curriculum review within a tertiary education workplace.
n
A relevant higher education teaching qualification is highly desirable.
n
Advance HE Fellowship or equivalent academic teaching recognition is desirable.
n
Professional membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is desirable.
n
A valid National Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain both, is required.
