Hart Marine is looking for enthusiastic Apprentice Boat Builders to join our team in Somerville.
n
We build large, high-performance fiberglass Pilot and Police vessels that operate around Australia and overseas. Yep — the boats you help build can end up out on the water doing some pretty important jobs!

What Will You Learn?
n
As an Apprentice Boat Builder, no two days will be exactly the same. You'll learn skills including:
n
n
Using hand tools and power tools safely
n
Building fiberglass components using open-mould hand layup
n




Dry lamination for vacuum infusion
n
Sanding, shaping and finishing fiberglass
n
Gelcoat and marine spraying
n
Helping with rigging and fitting out new boats
n
Assisting with sea trials on Pilot Boats
n
Helping deliver boats around Australia and overseas
n
General workshop and factory skills
n
n
Don't worry if you've never done this before — we don't expect you to know it all on day one. What matters most is that you're keen to learn and have a go.

Get Qualified While You Work
n
Complete your apprenticeship with Hart Marine and you'll have the opportunity to become a qualified Boat Builder and earn your Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction.
n
You'll finish your apprenticeship with a recognised trade qualification, practical skills and experience that can take you well beyond your first job.
