About the role
We are seeking an experienced
Auto Mechanic
to join our team at Bandesha Autos in Moorooka, QLD. This is a
full-time position
offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic automotive workshop environment where your technical skills and expertise will be valued. As an Auto Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our service delivery, ensuring vehicles are repaired to the highest standards, and building long-term relationships with our customers. This position is essential to the operation and reputation of our business.
Key responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tyre rotations
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection techniques
Carry out repairs to engine components, transmission systems, brake systems, suspension, and cooling systems
Service and repair air conditioning systems, heating systems, and other climate control equipment
Conduct wheel alignment and balancing procedures
Inspect vehicles thoroughly and document findings for customers and service records
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, costs, and timelines
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe in compliance with workplace health and safety standards




Stay current with automotive technology and best practices through continued learning
What we're looking for
Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent hands-on experience
Proven experience working as an Auto Mechanic, with a minimum of 2-3 years in the automotive trades industry
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Knowledge of current automotive systems, including engine management, electrical systems, and emission control technologies
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering work to high standards
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers
Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work productively in a team environment
Current driver's licence and willingness to undertake test drives when necessary
Commitment to workplace health and safety practices and procedures
Preferably, experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models
Preferably, knowledge of hybrid or electric vehicle systems would be advantageous
