About the role
Make a real difference
Support people experiencing mental health challenges to improve wellbeing and build a good life. The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response (EIPSR) team works in partnership with Royal Melbourne Hospital – Mental Health Services and is co-located on site in Moonee Ponds, delivering support via home-based outreach in clients' homes and communities. You'll provide strengths-based, recovery-focused psychosocial support and coaching to build confidence, navigate services, connect with community, and strengthen social and family relationships.

As a lead worker,
provide individual psychosocial support to improve wellbeing, working in partnership with clients, families/carers and key clinicians as part of an integrated approach with Area Mental Health Services.
Provide flexible, recovery-focused coaching that builds on clients' strengths, confidence and life skills, with a focus on personal recovery and managing own mental health and wellbeing.
Support clients to address social determinants impacting wellbeing and connect with a wide range of health, mental health and community support services, including NDIS (if eligible) that can be sustained beyond engagement with the program.
Support clients to strengthen social and family relationships, support networks, connect with community and participate in meaningful activities, education and employment.

Demonstrated skills and minimum of two years' experience working in community mental health or with clients who present with a high level of complexity, vulnerability, and disadvantage
Demonstrated ability to work in a complex and changing internal and external environments with accountability to clients, teams and management
Sound understanding of challenges people with mental health issues and their families face with a knowledge and understanding of recovery models of care
Outstanding ability to respectfully seek and utilise client-centred recovery oriented secondary consultation with Peer and Lived Experience workforce
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), a Working with Children Check (WWCC), complete a Pre-Employment Declaration Form, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination.
Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
