We're in an exciting period of growth and transformation, and we're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our close-knit Finance team at our Head Office in Shepparton.
n
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of key financial accounting processes within a growing business, where you'll play an important role in strengthening our systems, improve processes and finance capability for the future.
n
The role
n
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider Finance team, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial reporting
n
Maintaining general ledger integrity, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals and account reviews
n
Ensuring appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
n
Coordinating month-end and year-end processes
n
Oversight of accounts payable processes, including invoice review and approval, workflow monitoring, reconciliations and issue resolution
n
Supporting accounts receivable and payroll processes as required
n




Reviewing clearing accounts, investigating discrepancies and ensuring issues are resolved
n
Maintaining key finance registers, schedules and supporting documentation
n
Supporting external audit and year-end requirements
n
Helping maintain and improve finance systems, processes and internal controls
n
Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and make better use of technology and automation
n
n
There will also be opportunities to broaden your experience across budgeting, forecasting, costing, profitability and management reporting.
n
About you
n
You'll have a solid financial accounting foundation, with an understanding of financial reporting and Australian Accounting Standards.
n
Ideally, you'll bring:
n
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
n
Experience in a financial accounting, company accounting or similar role
n
Strong general ledger and reconciliation skills
n
Sharp attention to detail and a focus on accuracy
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
n
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
n
A willingness to learn,



take ownership and continue developing your accounting skills
n
CPA or CA qualification is highly regarded but not essential.
n
Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food and beverage or an inventory-based setting would be an advantage but is not essential.
