Job Description
Position: Traffic Engineer

Contract length: 12 months with potential for additional 12 month extension
n
Pay rate: Up to $85 p/h + Super
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Investigate traffic-related concerns raised by residents or stakeholders, conduct traffic studies (e.g., speed, volume, accident analysis), and design safety improvements such as signage, line marking, speed calming devices, and intersection upgrades.
n
Review and provide expert traffic engineering advice on Development Applications, including assessing traffic and parking impacts, access design, and recommending conditions of consent where necessary.
n
Investigate traffic requests by the community, conduct site inspections and traffic studies,



and develop solutions to enhance road safety and network performance.

Essential
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Traffic Engineering, and eligible to become a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
n
Minimum 12 months experience in a Traffic Engineering position for local government
n
