South East Rural Supplies is an independent, locally owned rural store proudly supporting farmers, agricultural businesses and the local community in Cooma and the surrounding region. We're looking for a Sales Support Officer to join our friendly team of six. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a busy rural business, working with a broad range of agricultural enterprises while enjoying the advantages of a close-knit country town.

About the Role
n
This is a hands-on, customer-facing position where no two days are the same. You'll combine excellent customer service with administration, stock management and practical store support.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Providing friendly, knowledgeable service to customers, suppliers and service provides across the counter and over the phone
n
Processing counter sales, pricing enquiries and product queries
n
Managing day-to-day administration, including stock control, ordering, receiving, receipting and dispatch
n
Assisting with the safe storage and handling of rural products, including stock feed, animal health products, crop protection chemicals and fencing
n
Assisting with merchandise and promotional campaign material
n
Keeping the store welcoming, organised, safe and well-presented
n
Working closely with the team to keep the store running efficiently
n




Pitching in wherever needed - because in a small team, everyone makes a difference!

About You
n
We're looking for someone who is energetic, practical and customer-focused, with a genuine interest in the rural industry.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
n
Rural merchandising or retail experience (highly regarded)
n
A sound understanding of agricultural products and the rural industry
n
Confidence and professionalism when answering and making telephone calls
n
Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to communicate confidently with customers, suppliers and team members
n
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
n
Initiative and a practical approach to solving problems
n
Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
n
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
n
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team
n
A proactive approach and willingness to get involved
n
n
A manual driver's licence is preferred, and a forklift licence is desirable.
