About the role
n
Ports North is seeking an experienced and
strategicSustainability
& Environment Manager to lead the organisation'ssustainability and environmental team. Reporting to the General
ManagerInfrastructure
& Sustainability, this role is responsible for
drivingenvironmental
stewardship, sustainability performance and compliance across theCorporation's operations, assets and development projects. The Sustainability andEnvironment Manager will provide expert leadership and advice to seniormanagement, oversee environmental approvals and compliance programs, developand implement sustainability initiatives, and build strong relationships withregulators, stakeholders and industry partners. This is a key leadership rolethat will influence business strategy, support long-term environmental outcomesand contribute to Ports North's commitment to sustainable growth.

Main responsibilities will include:

Leading and developing the Sustainability &Environment; team.
n
Developing and implementing sustainability andenvironmental strategies, policies and programs.
n
Providing high-level environmental andsustainability advice to the Executive Leadership Team and broaderbusiness.
n
Ensuring compliance with environmental
legislation,regulations,
approvals and licence requirements.
n
Overseeing environmental risk management andmitigation strategies across operations and projects.
n
Leading environmental approval processes formaintenance, development and capital works projects.
n
Driving sustainability initiatives and reportingacross the organisation.
n
Building and maintaining productive relationshipswith government agencies,



industry stakeholders, tenants and communitygroups.
n
Identifying opportunities for
continuousimprovement
and innovation in sustainability and environmental management.
n
Promoting a solid culture of
safety,accountability
and environmental responsibility.
n

Skills and Experience
n
n
Minimum Bachelor's degree in
Sustainability,Environmental
Engineering or Science, Environmental Management, or arelated discipline.
n
Proven experience leading teams and managingcross-functional programs or projects.
n
Demonstrated experience (10+ years) insustainability, environmental management, or a related field, includingdelivery of organisation-wide initiatives.
n
Experience developing and
implementingsustainability
strategies, including integration into business operationsand decision-making.
n
Strong understanding of environmental riskmanagement, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability
reportingrequirements.
n
Experience engaging with external
stakeholders,including
government, industry, and community groups.
n
Strong communication skills, with the ability toadvocate and promote sustainability and environmental outcomes internallyand externally.
n
Ability to provide strategic advice and remaininformed on emerging sustainability and environmental trends, risks, andopportunities.
