Job Description
Central Coast LHD is seeking PGY4+ Registrars and CMOs to support Emergency Department services across its coastal hospital network. Shifts are available throughout ****, including weekday, weekend and after-hours blocks. You will work in busy, supportive Emergency Departments with diverse presentations, modern systems and strong escalation pathways.

This role is ideal for doctors looking to build Emergency Medicine experience, consolidate independent practice or step into in-charge responsibilities depending on seniority and site requirements.

Clinical Environment
n

Wide case mix – manage trauma, cardiac emergencies, resus, paediatrics and mental health presentations
n
Varied shift responsibility – work in supervised or in-charge positions depending on your seniority and hospital site

Streamlined systems – use electronic medical records and structured triage protocols to support smoother workflow
n
High-acuity exposure – build procedural and critical care skills in well-equipped ED settings
n
Strong escalation pathways – work with specialist support and experienced clinical teams

Patient Demographic
n
You will support a broad Emergency Department patient mix, including adults, older patients, families, paediatric presentations, mental health presentations, trauma, cardiac emergencies and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation or escalation of care.

Key Duties
n

Assess and manage ED presentations within scope
n
Support patient flow, triage and treatment planning
n
Participate in resus, trauma and acute care where appropriate
n




Work in supervised or in-charge roles depending on roster and seniority
n
Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
n
Complete clinical documentation and handover
n
Work collaboratively with nursing, medical and specialist teams
n

Requirements
n
n
AHPRA General Registration
n
PGY4+ with minimum 6 months Emergency Medicine experience
n
Willingness to complete onboarding and local credentialing
n
n
