From routine health checks and preventative care through to advanced surgical procedures and medical consultations, our focus is always on delivering high-quality veterinary care and an outstanding client experience. As our business continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced and people-focused General Manager to help lead our next phase of success.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director, you will oversee the operational, financial and people leadership functions of the business while supporting a team of Veterinarians, Veterinary Nurses and Administration Team Members.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing team
Driving operational excellence across clinic and mobile services
Managing budgets, business performance and key operational metrics
Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning
Championing exceptional client service and customer experience
Ensuring compliance, workplace safety and business governance requirements
Managing facilities, fleet, systems and business infrastructure
Partnering with the Director on strategic initiatives and future growth opportunities
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded leader who enjoys working with people, improving systems and driving business performance.
To be successful in the role, you will bring:
Experience in General Management,



Operations Management, Practice Management or a similar leadership role
Proven ability to lead, develop and engage multidisciplinary teams
Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, reporting and KPI management
Experience overseeing recruitment, workforce planning and performance management
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
Highly Regarded
The following qualifications and experience will be viewed favourably:
Diploma of Practice Management, Business Administration, Health Administration or a related discipline
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management or Healthcare Administration
Experience within the veterinary, healthcare, allied health or qualified services sectors
Understanding of workplace health and safety, compliance and governance requirements
Experience with financial reporting, inventory management and business systems such as Xero or practice management software
