Dee Why Orthodontics is seeking an energetic Part-Time Orthodontic Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team in Dee Why, NSW. This is a part-time position 2 to 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, and some Thursdays) and no weekend work. offering flexible working arrangements to support our growing orthodontic practice. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. Your contribution will directly impact patient experiences and assist our orthodontists in providing high-quality treatment outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Assisting orthodontists during patient treatment procedures and examinations
n
Preparing and sterilising orthodontic instruments and equipment to maintain clinical standards
n
Taking and processing intraoral and extraoral radiographs (X-rays) under supervision
n
Applying orthodontic materials including adhesives, brackets and bands
n
Providing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort during procedures
n
Recording patient treatment notes and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
n
Scheduling patient appointments and managing clinic calendars
n
Greeting patients, explaining procedures and answering general enquiries
n
Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic clinical environment
n
Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
n
Supporting infection control protocols and following health and safety regulations
n

What we're looking for
n
n




A qualification in dental assisting or equivalent relevant experience in a dental or orthodontic environment is preferred but not essential. We can provide on-the-job training for the right candidate.
n
Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, terminology and materials preferred but not essential.
n
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
n
Strong organisational and time management abilities
n
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards
n
Ability to work flexibly within a part-time schedule
n
A warm and friendly personality
n
Current Working with Children Check (WWC) or willingness to obtain
n
Willingness to undertake training as required
