About the Organisation
Our client is a large, complex organisation operating across multiple sites and business units. With safety at the centre of its people strategy, they are seeking an experienced WHS Manager to lead a capable team and partner with leaders to enhance safety performance, build leadership capability and support a proactive approach to workplace health and safety across the organisation.
About the Role
The WHS Manager will provide leadership to a team of safety professionals while partnering closely with operational and corporate leaders to drive a practical and proactive approach to health, safety and wellbeing.
Combining strategic oversight with hands-on involvement, you'll provide expert guidance on safety, risk and compliance matters, support operational decision-making and play a key role in improving safety performance and strengthening risk management practices across a complex and diverse workforce.
You'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping them navigate risk, strengthen accountability and deliver sustainable safety outcomes that support both employees and organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop a team of WH&S; professionals
Partner with leaders to drive safe, engaged and productive workplaces
Provide expert advice across workplace health, safety, risk and wellbeing
Oversee incident management, investigations and corrective actions
Support the development, implementation and enhancement of WHS frameworks,



policies and programs
Influence and coach leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability
Monitor and interpret safety data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Drive initiatives that enhance safety performance and organisational outcomes
Contribute to business-wide projects, change initiatives and organisational priorities
Build robust relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
About You
Demonstrated experience in a WH&S; Manager, Senior Safety Business Partner or similar leadership role
Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels
Experience operating within a large, complex and unionised environment
Strong working knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation, risk management and compliance requirements
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
A pragmatic and commercially minded approach to problem solving
Demonstrated experience leading, developing and mentoring safety teams
Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery
Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Human Resources or a related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
