THE OPPORTUNITY
Play a key leadership role in launching a new hospitality operation at Western Sydney International Airport.
Airport Retail Group Australia is seeking an experienced, hands‐on Venue Manager to help prepare, open and operate our new food and beverage venues at Western Sydney International Airport, opening in late ****.
The venue portfolio includes Mountain Culture Beer Co. Domestic and International, together with two branded coffee venues. The operation will launch in stages, with venue trading hours developing alongside passenger volumes and flight schedules.
Reporting directly to the General Manager – Western Sydney International Airport, you will lead front‐of‐house operations, support the recruitment and development of the opening team, and help establish strong service standards from day one.
This is a practical, operational leadership role for someone who enjoys being present on the floor, developing people and building a new business through its opening and stabilisation period.
THE ROLE
Working closely with the General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Supervisors and Storeman, you will help turn the WSI operating plan into a consistent and commercially sustainable day‐to‐day operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pre‐opening preparation,



operational mobilisation and venue launches
Working with the General Manager to recruit, onboard, train and develop the opening team
Leading Supervisors and front‐of‐house employees across daily operations
Maintaining high standards of customer service, presentation and brand delivery
Preparing effective rosters aligned with flight schedules, passenger demand and labour targets
Monitoring sales, labour, productivity and other venue‐level performance indicators
Managing stock control, ordering, cash handling and daily operational procedures
Supporting approved procurement arrangements and monitoring supplier performance
Working closely with the Kitchen Manager to coordinate front‐of‐house, kitchen and production requirements
Ensuring compliance with RSA, food safety, WHS, airport security and company procedures
Completing required operational reporting, shift handovers and follow‐up actions
Responding effectively to customer concerns, operational disruptions and changing flight activity
Supporting the General Manager in maintaining productive relationships with airport stakeholders and brand partners
Helping build a positive, accountable and performance‐focused workplace culture
ABOUT YOU
Proven experience as a Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager
Strong front‐of‐house leadership and service‐management experience
Experience recruiting,



training and developing hospitality teams
Good working knowledge of rostering, labour management, stock control and operational reporting
Commercial awareness and an understanding of venue‐level sales and cost performance
The ability to maintain standards across changing trading periods and customer volumes
A practical, hands‐on leadership style
Robust communication, organisation and problem‐solving skills
The confidence to make operational decisions while working within agreed authority and reporting structures
Experience in a regulated, high‐volume or transport‐based environment would be advantageous
