About the role;
n
Base salary of $103,****** with the opportunity to earn over $150k p.a. inc allowances & overtime, subsidised house, negotiable relocation to get you (and the boat) up to the Gulf!
n
As Workshop Leading Hand, you'll be the driving force behind the day-to-day operations, leading and mentoring the crew, allocating jobs, and keeping work on track.
n
Reporting to the Workshop Foreman the role will include;
n
n
Coordinate daily job allocations and keep the workshop running to schedule
n
Provide hands-on technical support and mentoring to fitters and apprentices
n
Carry out mechanical assembly, welding, electrical testing, air-conditioning, hydraulics, diagnostics,



repairs and maintenance — in the workshop and out in the field, including Council's remote camps
n
Conduct heavy machinery works and heavy/light vehicle inspections
n
Handle vehicle recovery and float movements for machinery
n
Maintain accurate job records, fuel and lubricant issue sheets, timesheets and compliance documentation
n
n
What we're looking for include;
n
A recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Commercial Vehicles or Light Vehicle Maintenance.
n
Demonstrated mechanical servicing, maintenance and fault-finding experience.
n
Experience working with heavy vehicles, machinery and hydraulic systems.
n
The ability to lead, communicate effectively and provide guidance to other employees.
n
A minimum Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence, Multi Combination (MC) desirable.
n
Heavy machinery tickets or a willingness to obtain them
n
Current National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain
n
Pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
n
Approved inspector of heavy and light vehicles
n
Heavy machinery tickets (forklift, backhoe, grader, excavator, loader, roller, bobcat) or willingness to obtain
n
