An established Aboriginal-led health service in South-Western Sydney is seeking a General Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary team and play an key role in delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and the wider local community.

The Opportunity
n
This part-time GP position would suit a doctor who enjoys comprehensive general practice and is passionate about preventative healthcare, chronic disease management and improving health outcomes within the community. You will have the opportunity to manage a diverse patient base while working collaboratively with a team that understands the importance of culturally appropriate and patient-centred care.

Your Role
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Providing comprehensive, high-quality general practice care
n
Managing acute and chronic health conditions
n
Delivering preventative health assessments and health promotion
n
Conducting Aboriginal Health Assessments and GP Management Plans
n
Supporting patients with chronic disease and complex health needs
n
Providing women's health and mental health care
n
Working closely with nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and allied health professionals
n
Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and patient care
n
Participating in quality improvement, accreditation and clinical governance activities
n




Supporting community health initiatives and outreach programs
n
Building trusted, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families
n

About You
n
We are looking for a Fellowed GP who combines strong clinical skills with genuine empathy, excellent communication and a commitment to culturally safe healthcare. You will ideally have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or demonstrate a strong willingness to develop your understanding of Aboriginal health, culture and community needs.

Essential Criteria
n
n
Current AHPRA registration
n
Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
n
Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number
n
Current medical indemnity insurance
n
Current CPR certification
n
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues and Closing the Gap initiatives.
n
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
n
Commitment to continuing career development
