The Opportunity
n
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team.
n
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this is a hands‐on role responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery and feedlot equipment.
n
One day you could be working on a prime mover, the next a loader, tractor or piece of specialised feedlot equipment. It's a varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a workshop that supports the entire business.

The position operates on a 10 days on / 4 days off roster, providing a consistent roster and genuine work‐life balance.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Diagnose, service and repair heavy diesel machinery and equipment
n
Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing
n
Maintain and repair trucks, trailers, loaders, tractors and agricultural equipment
n
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults
n
Respond to breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
n
Complete accurate maintenance and job records using Gearbox maintenance management software
n
Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor,



Storeperson and operational teams to plan repairs and servicing
n
Identify potential equipment issues before they become major failures
n
Maintain a clean, protected and organised workshop
n
Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with WHS requirements
n
Support operators with basic equipment troubleshooting and fault identification
n
Contribute ideas to improve equipment reliability, workshop efficiency and preventative maintenance
n

What You'll Bring
n
n
Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Fitter or equivalent
n
Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, earthmoving equipment or similar
n
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
n
Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
n
Good communication and organisational skills
n
Current driver's licence
n
Heavy vehicle and forklift licences are advantageous
n
Commitment to safe work practices
n
A practical, reliable and positive "can do" attitude
n
Experience in agriculture or feedlots is advantageous but not essential. If you're a good mechanic with the right attitude, we'll teach you the operation.
