Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Captain, COO and CEO, the Business Development Executive will play a key role in driving sales growth by developing new business opportunities and nurturing existing trade partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, enjoys travelling, and is passionate about the tourism industry. You'll work closely with accommodation providers, travel agents, wholesalers, online travel agents, visitor information centres and other tourism partners to maximise sales across our portfolio of products.
Key responsibilities
Develop and grow relationships with travel agents, wholesalers, accommodation providers and tourism partners.
Identify and secure new sales and distribution opportunities.
Conduct regular sales visits throughout the Whitsundays and interstate.
Represent Ocean Rafting at trade shows, roadshows, networking events and industry conferences.
Coordinate familiarisation (famil) programs and product training for industry partners.
Assist in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
Monitor booking trends, sales performance and market activity.
Digital Platforms, Meta & OTA Management
Prepare monthly sales reports and business development updates.
Work closely with reservations, operations and marketing teams to maximise booking opportunities.
Maintain an exceptional understanding of all Ocean Rafting products and experiences.
About you
Previous experience in tourism, travel, hospitality or business development.




Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Solid relationship management abilities.
A proactive and results-driven approach.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Confidence working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
A current Australian Driver Licence.
Experience within the Whitsundays tourism industry (highly desirable).
Knowledge of tourism distribution networks (highly desirable).
Knowledge of digital platforms, Meta and OTA management (highly desirable.)
