We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and safety-focused Labourer / Trades Assistant to join our team in a full-time capacity based in Ipswich.
This role will primarily support works being undertaken on Defence and industrial sites across South East Queensland. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job properly, and is eager to learn and develop within a growing Australian company.
Previous experience is advantageous, however we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate a solid work ethic, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
In this role, you will work alongside our experienced technicians and assist with the safe delivery of maintenance, inspection, repair and installation works on a range of materials handling equipment. ACE will provide on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills and industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support technicians with maintenance, inspection, repair and installation activities
Ensure site safety requirements are followed at all times
Undertake 'spotting' duties for technicians working at heights and assist with safe work practices
Transport parts, tools,



materials and equipment to and from work sites
Safely use hand tools, mechanical power tools and other equipment
Assist with loading, unloading and organising equipment and materials
Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas
Perform general labouring duties as required
Support the efficient delivery of works across Defence and industrial sites
Represent ACE Materials Handling professionally while working on customer sites
Essential Requirements
Australian Citizenship (required for access to Defence sites), this is a requirement to be successful for this role
Current Driver's Licence
Construction Industry White Card (or ability to obtain)
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Good communication and teamwork skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Reliable and punctual work ethic
Ability to undertake physically demanding work
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in a labouring, trades assistant or site-based role
Experience working on Defence, industrial, construction or maintenance sites
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence
Working at Heights Certification
First Aid and CPR Certification
