An established food manufacturing business in the Northern Rivers is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead a multi-skilled engineering and maintenance team within a high-throughput processing operation.
n
This is a key frontline leadership position with responsibility for a team of approximately ***** tradespeople and apprentices. The role sits between the maintenance team, engineering leadership and production, ensuring maintenance activities are effectively prioritised and the plant continues to operate safely and reliably.
n
While a strong electrical foundation is important, this is not purely a hands-on technical position. The priority is finding someone who can lead people, build capability, manage competing priorities and create accountability within a busy operational environment.

The role will include:
n
n
Leading, mentoring and developing a team of electrical and mechanical tradespeople and apprentices
n
Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance around production requirements
n
Allocating resources and responding effectively to plant breakdowns
n
Driving plant reliability, uptime and maintenance performance
n
Working closely with production, planning and engineering management
n
Developing team capability through coaching, training and performance management
n
Supporting longer-term maintenance planning and continuous improvement
n
Maintaining strong safety, quality and operational standards
n




Helping develop maintenance procedures and engineering strategies
n
Supporting contractors and external technical specialists where required
n
n
The role also includes scheduling work around production, coordinating with the planning team and CMMS, and ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed to the required standard.

About you
n
We're particularly interested in speaking with people who have:
n
n
An electrical trade background, ideally with a current electrical licence
n
Experience leading and developing maintenance or engineering teams
n
Strong communication and people-management skills
n
Experience in manufacturing, processing or another high-intensity industrial environment
n
Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance
n
The ability to manage breakdowns and competing operational priorities
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach
n
Robust commitment to safety and compliance
n
n
Experience within food manufacturing, meat processing, PLCs or automation would be advantageous, but the business is open to strong maintenance leaders from other manufacturing and processing environments.
n
The position operates in an early-start manufacturing environment and requires some flexibility outside standard hours, including participation in a rotating Saturday presence.
n
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor or senior electrical trades leader looking to take ownership of a sizeable team within an established manufacturing operation.
