The opportunity
We are seeking a Playground Maintenance Officer to join the CityParks team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on, proactive personto support the efficient and effective maintenance and presentationof the City's playground areas while expanding your technical andoperational capabilities.
As Playground Maintenance Officer you will ensure the safety,cleanliness and functionality of public play areas are maintainedthrough regular inspections, repairs and landscaping. Key dutiesinclude auditing equipment for hazards, managing softfall surfaces,installation, repairing structures, minor project support and dailyoperational tasks that contribute to safe and well-maintainedrecreational environments for the community.
To be successful in this role, you willneed:
Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping orhorticulture
Hold a current unrestricted MR class national driver'slicence
Current White Card
Ability to use power tools and small plant equipment, withtrade experience (e.g., carpentry) preferred
Experience in the maintenance, installation and repair ofplayground equipment, fencing, shelters and park furniture
Ability to conduct playground safety audits, equipmentinspections and apply relevant Australian Standards
Experience overseeing minor project works and coordinatingcontractors as required




Strong written and verbal communication skills, with theability to complete maintenance records, reports and assetinformation
Proven ability to work independently, apply sound judgementand contribute positively within a team workplace
Well-developed organisational, problem solving and customerservice skills when engaging with community members andcolleagues

*The salary for this role commences at step 1, withpotential for movement within the range based on demonstratedskills and experience. Incremental progression typically occursat the conclusion of each 12-month period, in accordance withthe Industrial Agreement.
