We're looking for an
Onboarding Assistant
who is organised, proactive and genuinely enjoys helping people.
This is a great opportunity to get
hands-on exposure to HR, recruitment, onboarding and workforce mobilisation
while working alongside an experienced Talent & Mobility team in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling business.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As an Onboarding Assistant, you'll help coordinate the journey of people joining AWCON — from accepting an offer through to being ready to start on site.
You'll work closely with candidates, employees, hiring managers, site teams, clients and external providers, gaining a real understanding of how a growing construction business gets its people ready for work.
You'll be involved in:
Coordinating pre-employment medicals and tracking results
Assisting with police checks, work rights and compliance requirements
Scheduling client and company inductions
Supporting flights, accommodation and mobilisation logistics
Tracking onboarding progress and following up outstanding requirements
Maintaining accurate employee and mobilisation records
Monitoring compliance with AWCON and client requirements
Responding to candidate, employee and provider enquiries
Supporting data quality and reporting




Helping improve onboarding and mobilisation processes as AWCON continues to grow
This isn't just another admin role.
You'll see the people side of major construction and mining projects and learn how
recruitment, HR, mobilisation and workforce planning come together to get the right people where they need to be.
And because we're growing quickly, you'll have the opportunity to do more than follow a process.
You'll help build it.
ABOUT YOU
You might already have some experience in administration, coordination, recruitment, HR, customer service or project support — or you may simply have the
right attitude, natural organisation and ambition to learn
.
You'll bring:
Genuine interest in people, HR, recruitment or workforce support
Strong organisation and attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
Confidence working with different people and stakeholders
The ability to manage multiple priorities and keep things moving
Confidence using Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems
Curiosity and a genuine desire to understand how things work
The initiative to spot problems and look for better ways of doing things
Experience in
construction, mining, engineering, infrastructure or mobilisation
will be highly regarded but isn't essential.
We can teach you the systems and processes.
