We are currently seeking a dedicated, experienced and highly motivated Support Workerto join our friendly, supportive team at Mullein Care. Our new Support Worker will be compassionate and play a key role in helping our clients to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes, supporting their dignity, safety, and quality of life.

The Opportunity:
n
This role is a casual position based, with clients based in various locations across Brisbane, and involves travelling to and from client's homes, assisting them with daily living and lifestyle requirements by providing person-centred care and support.
n
The Role Responsibilities:
n
Provide Domestic Assistance in a client's home to enable them to remain safe and independent in the community. Domestic duties may include laundry, bed making, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, meal planning / preparation, light gardening whilst building confidence and supporting client participation where appropriate.
n
Assistance with activities of daily living self-care tasks in order to help a client maintain appropriate standards of hygiene and daily living.
n
Support with personal care which may include dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming, moving throughout the home, assistance with medication prompting and oral support (brushing and cleaning of teeth, dentures).
n
Provide transport support to enable service users to access community, social activities and shopping and/or medical and specialist appointments.
n
Observe consumers health and wellbeing and report/feedback as necessary to the Operations Manager.
n
Support clients, their carers', and significant others in a way that encourages confidence in their choice to remain living in the community. Social support to take clients to their medical appointments, banking or assist with shopping.
n
Meal preparation, planning, safe food storage tailored to dietary needs and cultural preferences.
n




Group support and activities; planning and preparation of such events liaising with Operations Manager.
n
Maintaining consumers' dignity and self-esteem whilst upholding a high level of confidentiality and privacy.
n
Ensure service delivery is conducted in accordance with evidence-based practice, best practice standards and effective risk processes and management.
n
Adhering to health and safety guidelines and policies to keep yourself and our clients protected.
n
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
n
Relevant experience in Home Care (Aged Care) - (3 years in a similar role)
n
Ability to read, comprehend and adhere to support/care plans, accessing soft wares for client notes, schedules and documentation needed
n
Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, their relatives, carers or significant others
n
Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
n
Flexibility in hours and approach, with availability aligned to client needs.
n
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
n
Ability to work with individuals from a diverse range of social, financial and cultural backgrounds
n
Key Requirements:
n
Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Aged Care,Home Care, Disability, or related field.
n
Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain.)
n
Valid driver's licence and own vehicle (Company vehicle will be provided for transportation of clients).
n
NDIS Worker Screening check and Working with Children check (or willingness to obtain)
n
National Police Check within 6 months (or willingness to obtain)
n
Flu & COVID Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
n
Flexibility and availability to work rosters between Monday to Friday
