About the Role
n
We are a Reliability Fitter to join Ballarat's lean, high-performing team responsible for commissioning and maintaining some of the most advanced milling technology in the country. This is a hands-on, digitally focused role that blends electrical and mechanical expertise with a passion for automation, optimisation, and continuous learning.
n
You'll work closely with the builder during installation, gaining deep insight into the control systems and infrastructure. From wiring and sensors to PLCs and data-driven diagnostics, you'll be at the heart of how the site runs and improves over time.

You'll be responsible for:
n
n
Supporting the commissioning of electrical and control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and industrial sensors
n




Performing preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems
n
Diagnosing faults, chasing data, and using control systems to drive performance
n
Collaborating with contractors and suppliers to manage outsourced work
n
Contributing to system optimisation, automation upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
n
Participating in call-back and weekend coverage as part of a lean, agile team
n
n
About you
n
We're looking for someone who thrives in transformation and large-scale change.
n
Dual trade candidates will be preferred, although applicants with a robust mechanical background and a willingness to work in a digitally advanced environment will be considered.

The suitable candidate will possess:
n
n
A dual-trade background or strong mechanical understanding alongside electrical qualifications
n
A restricted electrical licence is preferred for non-dual trade applicants
n
Experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and automation in a manufacturing environment
n
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for learning and digital systems
n
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and with external partners
n
