We are looking for a reliable and friendly Male Disability Support Worker to join our team in Aspley, QLD.
n
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people get out into the community, stay socially connected, and participate in activities they enjoy.
n
The client has a history of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and strokes and requires support primarily with community access and social activities.
n
No behaviours of concern No personal care required Community outings & social support focused
n
Required Availability
n
We are looking for someone who can commit to the following shifts:
n
n
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
n
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
n
Sunday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
n
n
Flexibility to work both morning and afternoon support on weekends is required.
n
About the Role
n
Your main focus will be providing positive and engaging support during community outings and social activities.
n
You may assist the client with:
n
n
Community outings and appointments
n
Social and recreational activities
n
Getting out into the community and staying socially connected
n
Encouraging independence and participation
n
Supporting the client to enjoy activities and maintain their interests
n
Providing companionship and positive social interaction
n
Ensuring the client feels comfortable, respected, and supported while out in the community
n
n
About You
n

n

Confident communicating and building rapport
n

Available to work the required weekday and weekend shifts

Experience
n
Experience supporting clients with the following is highly desirable:
n
n
Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
n
History of strokes
n
Disability or community support
n
Community access and social support
n
n
Previous Disability Support Worker experience is preferred.
n
Requirements
n
n
Previous experience in disability or community support
n
Current National Police Check
n
Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card
n
First Aid & CPR certification is advantageous
n
Valuable verbal and written communication skills
n
Ability to work independently
n
Availability for the required shifts
n
