Job Description
Procurement Officer
n
Initial 6 month contract + Possible extension
n
Hybrid and Flexible working available
n
We're partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Procurement Officer.
n
This role sits within a central finance and procurement function that supports the delivery of critical public sector services across Queensland. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, you'll contribute to procurement planning, sourcing activities, contract administration and procurement governance outcomes.
n

What you'll be doing
n
n
Provide procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders
n
Assist with procurement planning and sourcing activities
n
Prepare procurement documentation and tender-related materials
n
Support supplier engagement and market sounding activities
n
Conduct market research and procurement analysis
n
Develop specifications and procurement requirements with stakeholders
n
Prepare evaluation plans, reports and recommendation documentation
n
Coordinate procurement evaluation meetings and workshops
n
Support contract and consultancy engagement processes
n
Prepare briefing notes, reports and correspondence
n
Maintain procurement registers and compliance records
n
Ensure procurement activities align with government policies and procedures
n
Build and maintain effective supplier and stakeholder relationships
n
Assist with vendor negotiations and procurement outcomes
n
Support continuous improvement of procurement administration processes
n
n
What you need to bring
n
n
Experience supporting procurement, sourcing or contract management activities
n
Robust understanding of procurement principles and governance practices
n
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislative requirements
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
n
Strong written communication and report‐writing capability
n
Experience preparing procurement or business documentation
n
High level attention to detail and accuracy
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Experience conducting research and market analysis
n
Sound negotiation and communication skills
n
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
n
Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation
n
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
n
Experience working within a structured governance environment
n
n
Bonus points for
n
n
Government procurement experience
n
Procurement Level 1 or Level 2 certification
n
Exposure to contract management activities
n
Experience using SAP or similar financial management systems
n
Knowledge of Queensland Government procurement frameworks
n
Experience working within large, complex organisations
n
