Hunter Cataract & Eye Centre is seeking a friendly and organised
Medical Receptionist
to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. Based in Charlestown, NSW, this role is essential to delivering exceptional patient experience and maintaining the smooth operation of our eye care facility. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will create a welcoming environment whilst managing administrative tasks that support the clinical team and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Approximately ***** hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Key responsibilities
Greeting patients upon arrival and maintaining a warm, skilled reception area
Managing appointment scheduling, surgery bookings, confirmations and patient enquiries via phone, email and in person
Processing patient registrations and maintaining accurate medical records
Handling patient billing, Medicare claims and explaining fees
Maintaining reception area cleanliness, organisation and ensuring adequate supplies are available
Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks
Experience with Genie software or other medical software programs an advantage
Specialist Medical Reception experience an advantage

Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously in a very busy Ophthalmology Practice
A positive and proactive attitude
A high level of customer service
Be reliable, efficient and able to work under pressure
Have a clear understanding of patient confidentiality
