Port Macquarie Haematology is an engaging and growing specialist practice currently supporting three Haematologists. We are seeking a proactive, reliable and personable Medical Receptionist / Administration Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing a high standard of service and is looking for a role within a professional and supportive medical environment. The position will initially be one day per week, with additional hours available to provide holiday and sick leave coverage.
Key responsibilities
Providing professional and friendly reception services
Supporting the Haematologists and practice team with day-to-day administration
Welcoming and assisting patients
Maintaining positive relationships with patients, doctors and hospitals
Managing telephone and general reception enquiries
Processing receipting and invoicing
Hospital billing, including using ECLIPSE
General medical administration and office duties




Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Has excellent attention to detail
Can confidently prioritise and manage competing tasks
Is able to work independently while contributing positively to the team
Has solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Understands the importance of confidentiality and discretion
Has demonstrated computer skills and confidence using office applications
Previous medical administration, medical reception and/or billing experience is preferred but is not essential
Experience with Gentu/Genie and ECLIPSE would be an advantage, but training can be provided for the right person
