Job Description
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Executive to join our Content Studio team on a fixed-term contract through to 13 November ****. Reporting to the Social Media Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of VRC's social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and X. You'll play a key role in bringing the VRC brand and Melbourne Cup Carnival to life through engaging content, community management and real-time event coverage. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for social media and enjoys creating content that drives audience engagement.

Key responsibilities
n
Plan, schedule and publish content across VRC's social media channels.
n
Create compelling copy, reels, stories, short-form video and visual assets tailored to each platform.
n
Capture and edit content at race days, events and behind-the-scenes activations.
n
Manage community engagement, responding to comments, messages and mentions in a timely and authentic manner.
n
Monitor social trends, audience behaviour and emerging platform opportunities.
n
Track and report on content performance,



audience growth and engagement metrics.
n
Support the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns with internal stakeholders.
n
Contribute to major VRC initiatives including the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour and Fashions on the Field.

About you
n
Experience managing social media channels for a brand, agency or organisation.
n
Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
n
Experience capturing and editing social-first video content.
n
Knowledge of platform best practice across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and X.
n
Experience using social scheduling, listening and reporting tools.
n
Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
n
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into action.
n
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities during peak event periods.
n
A proactive, cooperative and creative approach to work.
