About The Role : The CNC Operators will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the assigned machine/s, ensuring jobs are completed safely and efficiently, and that maintenance schedules upheld.
Main responsibilities include : Operating CNC steel processing machinery in accordance with production requirements and workshop procedures.
Reading and interpreting workshop drawings, engineering plans and work orders.
Following production schedules and line sequencing to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
Monitoring machine performance and proactively identifying and addressing operational issues.
Completing quality inspections to ensure processed materials meet required specifications and tolerances.
Accurately recording material traceability information against relevant project numbers.
Maintaining safe operating practices, including the correct use of PPE, power tools and lifting equipment.
Conducting safety inspections and observations for your assigned work area.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
Taking responsibility for the care and maintenance of machinery, tools and equipment.
Working collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and support overall workshop operations.
About You : At least 1 year of proven experience operating CNC machinery, preferably within a structural steel processing or manufacturing environment.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, workshop plans and work orders.




An understanding of production sequencing, material handling and manufacturing workflows.
A robust commitment to quality, accuracy and material traceability.
The ability to identify and troubleshoot machine or quality issues and seek assistance when required.
A sound understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
Experience using forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists or other lifting equipment, with relevant licences where required.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A reliable, proactive approach with a willingness to take accountability and adapt to changing production demands.
Experience with Voortman steel processing machinery, including V631 and VB****, Cosen M8, Plazmax 170A Cutace or similar equipment will be highly regarded.
