As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for a strategic, commercially minded Business Development Manager to help identify and secure local and interstate contract opportunities.

About the Role
n
This is a senior-level opportunity for someone with a proven track record in government procurement, manufacturing, and technical sales. You'll play a key role in identifying new markets, managing tenders, and strengthening long-term relationships with government and industry clients.

What You'll Do
n
n
Identify and qualify contract opportunities via QTender, AusTender, VendorPanel, etc.
n
Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality tenders, EOIs, and capability responses.
n
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, and competitive.
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement leads, councils, and commercial clients.
n
Source new clients and opportunities for the business to continue expanding.
n
Maintain a live opportunity pipeline and provide strategic market reporting to the GM.

What You'll Bring
n
Required:
n
n




5+ years in a business development, tendering, or commercial role (ideally in manufacturing, Defence, or government sectors).
n
Strong knowledge of government procurement processes and compliance requirements.
n
Proven ability to win commercial or government contracts.
n
Confident in engaging technical concepts and presenting value to decision-makers.
n
High levels of initiative, professionalism, and attention to detail.
n
Desire and willingness to push and drive the business.
n
Experience in sectors such as transport, Defence, infrastructure, utilities, or emergency services.
n
Knowledge of ISO standards, WHS legislation, and QA frameworks.
n
Familiarity with the Fraser Coast region and industry landscape.
n
Qualifications in business, engineering, or project management.
n
Experience in estimating/costing for manufacturing.
n
An existing contact network in industry and government with the ability to leverage relationships.
